Two of Coal Country Community Health Center healthcare providers, Dr. Jacinta Klindworth and Libbie Johnson, a nurse practitioner, were recently awarded with North Dakota Diabetes Care Provider Achievement Awards.
The providers were given the awards based on the American Diabetes Association 2007 guidelines. Klindworth earned the gold award for meeting five achievement goals, while Johnson was awarded a silver award for meeting four goals.
The goals for the year were: annual office visits, 100%; annual A1C (assessment of blood sugar control over time), 95%; annual dilated eye exam, 60%; annual lipid profile, 85%; and annual nephropathy (kidney disease) assessment, 80%.
Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota in cooperation with the North Dakota Department of Health Diabetes Prevention and Control Program sponsored the awards.
